ADOPTION
I want to adopt again. Most who know me are not surprised by this. Believe it or not my husband is entertaining the idea. I would love to adopt a sibling group between the ages of 3 and 8. If it was solely up to me we'd be bring our children home in just under two years from now. With that being said, where do I begin. I've tossed around the idea of doing a domestic adoption, but international adoption keeps tugging on my heart. When we adopted from Guatemala the decision to go there was so easy, but now that Guatemala is closed, what country is best for us.

I am a SAHM who has been married for 10 years. My husband and I have 4 children. Our youngest who we adopted from Guatemala. We have 4 dogs and a Poppy and hope to add another child to our family through adoption. This blog is about us.

I know a few folks adopting from Ethopia!!!! HINT HINT..but not me...4 is my limit my oldst will a senior next year...college is taking all my $$$$$ YIKES!!!

I'm feeling the same way...I would love to adopt again and am so sad that Guatemala isn't an option now.
I know so many people who are finding children to add to their families through Reece's Rainbow. I realize you alreay have a child with special needs as do I but when you go to that site and see all the children with no futures if they aren't adopted, it just tugs at my heart!
That's great that your husband is on board to adopt again! Mine would be if Guat. was still open!
If we were to adopt again I would definitely look into Ethiopia. Something about that country excites me. I'm still in love with Latin American countries, too. I recently also heard that Mexico has opened it's doors.

I second Ethiopia! Just be very careful with your agency. The same ethics issues that shut down Guatemala are visiting Ethiopia but there still are very good and careful agencies out there. WACAP is one.
Oh wow! I wish I had some advice, but we are in the same boat. We are so sad Guatemala is closed. But, we are looking into domestic right now. I can't wait to hear where this goes for your family!
Our 2nd adoption was done Domestically....if you ever want to chat. #1 was from Guatemala as well.
I have a beautiful 8 year old whom I adopted from Guatemala. I brought home my 6 1/2 month old baby girl from Ethiopia last January . She is AMAZING!

We just started an El Salvador adoption. Takes about 3-4 years, so not appealing to many, but we are passionate about ES so hoping we can stick with it and wait it out! It is a cheaper program than GT was as well.
