Faith's Birthday Fiesta

WOW, what a party. The day started out great and ended great. I don't think Faith had any clue as to what was going on. Yet she did so very well with everyone over. I really wanted to honor Faith's heritage and since I have no clue how to make Guatemalan food, a friend of ours, Chef Joey, came over and cooked up a feast. The food was awesome. The kids swam, bounced, beat up a pinata (that was almost impossible to open) and enjoyed the warm weather. Faith had little interest in the cake, but she did touch it and let her grandma feed her some frosting. She got a lot of great presents, toys and clothes.

I just wanted to thank all my family and friends for making this day special for me, oops, I mean Faith.

Enjoy the pictures

My Big Party

Did I say MY big party, oops, I meant FAITH'S big party. When Faith came home a year ago I was planning a big welcome home birthday party, however, things didn't go as planned. Faith was in no condition to tolerate a party. This year she is much more tolerable of a party. It's like the party I always wanted but could never have, oops, I did it again. I mean the party Faith has always wanted but could never have. So we will celebrate Faith's 2nd birthday the best way I now how, good food by chef Joey, a pinata, a jumpy and all our family and friends. So the irony of the situation is that 2 out of 7 family members are sick and I woke up with a very scratchy throat. I will be fighting this one for sure. The party will go on this Saturday, so stay tuned for some pics.

Mother's Day and Therapy Pictures

Mothers Day has come and gone, yet a Mother's job is never done. We spent the day at my brothers with extended family and had a very nice brunch. The kids spent hours jumping in the bouncy while the Moms sipped on mimosas and the Dads waited on us hands and feet. OK, all is true except the Dad part. The rest of the afternoon was spent at home with my in-laws, relaxing and enjoying one another's company. It was a beautiful day.

Faith's intensive therapy has come to an end for now. She did an amazing job. She is not yet walking or crawling, but she can bare weight on her legs from 30 seconds to 3 minutes with assistance. Physically and Cognitively she is becoming stronger. I am so very proud of her. Next up, IEP meetings and dealing with all the political BS that comes with obtaining more therapy on a weekly basis. Your thoughts, prayers and support is always needed and greatly appreciated. Thank you
