Blogger Tag

I too have been tagged by Steph. Please visit her blog and check out her adorable son Eli. http://journeytoeli.blogspot.com/

What does it mean to get tagged. It means a few minutes to take your mind off of all the chaos that comes with this adoption process and to share fun facts about ourselves with fellow bloggers.

Ok, so here are the rules as I know them. Link the person who sent this and leave a comment on thier blog so their readers can visit yours. Post the rules on your blog-share 7 weird/strange facts about yourself, then tag 7 random bloggers at the end of your post and link their blog. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

So, here are 7 weird/strange facts about me.

1. I'm a lot lazy and quit a bit a procrastinator, however, if something sparks my interest I can get the task/job done in record time.

2. Every few months or so I become OCD about something. Whether it's collecting Christmas houses during Christmas time to spending hours trying to find a deal on the computer even if it only saves me a few bucks.

3. I love tattoos and I'd have them all over but I don't want to be 80 years old and looked at funny for have tattoos. So I just have a few that can be covered by clothes if needed.

4. I'd love to have 10+ kids, because I love children and I am afraid that when they grow up I will be all alone and have nothing to do. My hobby, job and life are my kids.

5. I love to mix sour cream with my pasta and meat sauce.

6. Tapatia sauce is good with anything.

7. I've always gone barefoot and because of that I have some lovely caluses on my feet. UGHHH

Waiting, waiting, waiting

All I seem to be doing is waiting. Waiting for the Central Authority to get there @#$? together so we can be re-submitted to PGN. For those who need a reminder PGN is a beautiful palace on top of a hill in Guatemala. Inside the palace sits a king. He sits on his throne and gets to chose which orphaned child will have a family that day or which child will have to wait a day longer. Our problem is that we were kicked out of the palace and now we are trying to get back in, except the king has the drawbridge up and won't let anyone in. I'm considering raiding the palace or possibly burning it down. Anyone want to help. Meanwhile back on the Riggio Ranch we are slowly coming to a finish with our construction. The new addition should be done in another month or so. The paint fumes are horrendous and with my asthma breathing has been difficult.

I've been thinking about posting a letter to Faith, but I've decided i'd wait, wait, wait, until I received the news that shes on her way home. I want to save all my good emotion for then. I'm afraid if I write now then my emotions will get fogged over by the grief of not having her home now.

I'm anxiously awaiting news that we have been registered and as soon as it arrives I will let everyone know. I also wanted to thank everyone for your continuous thoughts and prayers, they mean more than you know.

Happy 8 month Birthday, Faith

Today Faith turns 8 months and Rex 22 months. My babies are growing so fast. Unfortunately I have no new news to report. For those who saw the dateline report, my feelings are mixed. Like most adoptive parents I would have liked Dateline to focus a little more on the positive. But we all know that the positive doesn't make a great news story, UGGGHHHH. Meanwhile, we are waiting to get registered with the Central Authority. There have been many mixed reviews as to whom, what and where the Central Authrity is. I am trying to hold tight. I know my beautiful daughter will be home someday. Hopefully sooner than later.

Funny Story

All those that have little boys know that they have a tendency to be rambunctious, very active and love to explore. My middle child, Roc is 5 1/2 years old and attends kindergarten. On Tuesday I got a call from his school notifying me of an incident that Roc had on the play ground. When I arrived at school, Roc was in the office very upset. You see, he had put a ROCK up his nose. That's right you heard it correctly, a ROCK in ROC'S nose. After numerous blows to try and extract the ROCK, we had to make a trip to the doctor. While waiting at the doctor I noticed the ROCK had started to make it's decent down his nose, so with a couple good blows the ROCK shooted out his nose. I am still amazed at the size of the thing. It was huge. I'll try and post a picture.

Gotta love kids

A prayer

First I'd like to send my condolences to some blogger buddies of mine, Will and Aileen. I would like to ask everyone to please say a prayer for Will and Aileen, Foster mother and birth mother. Just the other day their beautiful daughter Ariana passed away from pneumonia. Will and Aileen were in the middle of their adoption process when they got the horrifying news. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.

Busy, Busy, not really

So I have been trying to keep myself busy as we wait to be registered with the Central Authority and resubmitted into PGN. I love to read and have been indulging in numerous books. My husband hasn't complained about the amount of reading I'm doing, bless his heart, I think it's because he kows it helps me get through the days. For all you readers, 2 good books I've read each in a matter of four days, "The KiteRunner" also a movie and "A Thousand Splendid Suns", both by Khaled Hosseini. I could go on and on about the books, but you really need to read them for yourself.

Otherwise, things are good.

A little news is better than no news

That's right folks, a little news is better than no news. So after about a week or so of feeling depressed, heart broken, frustrated and anxious, news has been slowly coming in stating that a Central Authority is in the works. Central Authority? For those of you who are confused, under the new law a Central Authority needs to be established for all new adoption cases. Each adoption case needs to be registered with the Central Authority. Although we are not a new case, because we are not in PGN we will need to be registered in order to be resubmitted to PGN. Confusing for you, well it's confusing to me to. I have gotten word that this process should happen in the next few weeks. So hopefully we will be back in PGN by the end of the month. That's all I got for you. Needless to say my spirits have been up the last two days and I am trying hard to keep it that way.

In Limbo

I just spoke with our agency and we have definitely not been resubmitted to PGN and won't be until a Central Authority is organized. The new President takes office January 14th, so hopefully we will see some action. We are in Limbo.

I am overly concerned that Faith won't make it home by her 1st Birthday which is May 23rd. So after speaking with my agency they said if we are not out of PGN by her Birthday we'll be able to go for a second visit. However, they have high hopes that she will be home with us by then.

This process is so exhausting and trying. I just want my baby home and to be done with all the political nonsense.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those that are going through this. I wish everyone a speedy trip through PGN, pink and home.

God Bless

Not IN

Well I just spoke with our agency today and we haven't been re-submitted yet. They said they were going to try and re-submit us today. However, due to the uncertainty of the Guatemalan Govt and the new adoption law, we are not sure if that will be possible. Supposedly re-submits won't be accepted until after the Central Authority is set up, which is suppose to happen the first two weeks of January. With any luck we'll get back in today.

Please pray for our family and baby Faith

Are we IN or are we OUT

A little update, not a good update, but none the less an update. Our agency had told us we were re-submitted to PGN on Dec 26/27. So I decided to call PGN yesterday to check on that. They told me they have no recored of the resubmit. I'm not panicking yet because I know that that can mean many things. What I'm hoping is that because of the holidays, PGN is behind in entering into the computer all the caes that are bombarding their office. Worst case scenario is that they are not accepting any cases for the new year and ours is one of them.

Trying to stay calm.

Your thoughts and prayers are needed
